Two time Grand Slam finalist and the breakthrough player in 2011, Carloline Wozniacki has suffered an alarming dip in form in 2012. The former World No.1 was the eliminated early from both Wimbledon and US Open early this year. The Dane would be looking to gain some form, as she looks to get into the year ending championships.
The right hander has traditionally loved the Autumn Asian swing, she has won titles in both Beijing and in Tokyo earlier. After recovering from the knee injury that she suffered from in Tokyo, the Dane would look to regain some form in the Korean capital.
US Open blip aside, Wozniacki enjoyed a solid summer, reaching semifinals in Montréal and New Haven, as well as an encouraging quarterfinal run at the Olympics. First up at the Seoul Olympic Park Tennis Center will be talented Dutch youngster Arantxa Rus, and should she get through this tricky opener things are unlikely to get any easier with seven other members of the Top 30 also in the draw.
The competition comes in the form of No.2 seed Maria Kirilenko. The Russian has had a stunning year so far having reached two finals and a career high ranking of 12 this year. She is a previous finalist at the event and lost to Venus Williams in the 2007 final. Kirilenko will take on either Tamira Paszek or Carla Suarez Navarro in her first match here.

Well, even Serena's weave has a mind of it's own, so I'm not sure.

Who knows what Serena thinks? It will be her or Azarenka that wins. Azarenka will not be the one to beat Serena though, nor Sharapova. Serena is more likely to lose to Stosur or Li than those two. She's weird like that!

Yoy could be right, bust I guess it's just because she can more than because she really wants it?

I actually think for once Serena probably does want to be #1. She's nearly 31, so how good would that feel, going into your 32nd year and 15th year as a pro as the top ranked player?

I think it will be Vika or Maria who take it, it really depends on Serena's intensity and whether she wants to be Number 1.

Aga's got quite a few defending points... I also can't see Petra winning Istanbul again when Vika, Maria and Serena are looking so good.
