2011 Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia will skip Serbia’s first-round Davis Cup matches against India.
Serbia clinched its maiden Davis Cup last year under the captaincy of Novak Djokovic. The third-ranked Serbian announced on his website that due to fatigue, he would not be able to play for Serbia against India – in its Davis Cup duel.
This three-day series will kick off in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad, on this weekend.
Serbia is crushing favorite against India as it is studded with ATP stars Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic. Both have been playing in singles.
