Novak Djokovic kept himself in contention to winning the Roland Garros after humbling Blaz Kavcic in straight sets 6-0, 6-4, 6-4 in 2 hours and 15 minutes to progress into Round 3.
Djokovic wrapped the first set in just 23 minutes to take a one set to love lead. A great set by Djokovic, who smashed 15 winners in this set as he mixed his game very well and it all paid off! He broke the Kavcic serve thrice and also approached the net, where he won 5 out of 7 points, indicating how well he is settled on the net too.
Djokovic comes back from 2-4 down to take the set 6-4 in minutes. Though he struggled a bit in this set, he used all his experience to claw his way back into the set. With 10 winners and 2 breaks of serves, Djokovic overcame 14 unforced errors in this set. This set was a much closer one as Kavcic took his chances and they were paying off till Djokovic fought back.
The final set went on serve till the very end as Djokovic again used his experience to overcome this set and match. Kavcic could not handle the pressure exerted by Djokovic and faltered at the very end.
