Serbia’s flag bearer at the London Olympics Opening Ceremony, Novak Djokovic rallied past Fabio Fognini of Italy with a 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-2 scoreline on Sunday at the All England Club for a place in the second round.
The Serbian failed to capitalize on three set points and lost the first set, but then he bounced back and won the next two sets to secure his berth in the second-round of the London Olympics. "I haven’t played an official match since Wimbledon, so it took me a set and a half to really get into the rhythm," quoted Djokovic. "Obviously the rain delay affected the game, and I wasn’t sharp enough after the rain delay."
Third seeded Andy Murray of Great Britain also progressed into the second-round after earning a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland at the All England Club, Wimbledon. The Scot fired 8 aces and hammered 20 winners to earn this victory in 89 minutes.
"I always enjoy coming back onto the court… I love the atmosphere,” said Murray. “A lot of the people that were here today, it would have been their first time to Wimbledon. I practiced against Stan a few times last week and played really well against him. I’m really up for the tournament. I want to be involved in this event for as long as possible. I’m going to give it my best shot.”
In other first-round action, Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga rallied past Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 in just under two hours. Japan’s Kei Nishikori beat Bernard Tomic of Australia 7-6(4), 7-6(4) in 90 minutes.

I really hope Andy can get a medal for Britain but more especially for himself - he deserves a boost to his confidence and I believe it would do wonders for his tennis future.
