Kubot had his chances but found himself far from capitalizing on them. Djokovic kept his errors to minimum in the opening set. The Serbian finished the first set in no time and then went on to master the second set. Kubot used his serve and volley strategy to condition his game and earned two holds of serves, but the damage was already done.
