World No.1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia reached the penultimate round of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters in emphatic fashion, beating Robin Haase in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in 1 hour and 16 minutes.
Djokovic wrapped the first set with a volley winner. Djokovic got broken twice in this set, but more importantly, BROKE THRICE! A total of 9 winners coming from the Nole racquet as he took the first set in 44 minutes. 17 errors from the Haase corner also helped Djokovic's cause.
The second set was a more one sided affair after Djokovic broke the Haase serve 4 times to take the second set 6-2. It was more of an exhibition set with Djokovic winning some really interesting points. A total of 19 winners came from the Djokovic corner as well as 11 net points.
He next faces Tomas Berdych, who dispatched Andy Murray in an energy sapping three set encounter.
