Defending champion Nikolay Davydenko takes on qualifier Robert Farah in his first round match at the BMW Open 2012.

Defending champion and seventh seeded Russian Nikolay Davydenko takes on qualifier Robert Farah of Colombia in his first round match at BMW Open, Munich.

Davydenko, two time former champion, comes into this tournament with 8-7 win loss record this year and still awaits first title win this year. Except a semi-final appearance at Rotterdam Open this year where he lost to eventual champion Roger Federer, he has succumbed to early round exits in other tournaments.

His opponent Farah is ranked at 210 on the ATP Charts and has 2-3 win-loss record. Last week he reached the third round of Barcelona Open, where he lost to Rafael Nadal in that match.

TennisEarth Pick: Davydenko might look out of form but he has 12-3 career mark in Munich and looks a certain favourite in the clash.
