Top-seeded Rafael Nadal extended his Grand Slam match winning streak to 18th, when he defeated his fellow Spaniard Spaniard Feliciano Lopez in three straight sets with a 6-3 6-4 6-4 and advanced into the quarterfinal of the US Open 2010, being played here at Flushing Meadows.
It was another precision-oriented performance from Rafael Nadal, as he eased past his compatriot Feliciano Lopez in straight sets. Nadal got the coveted breaks at the right time, during all the three sets. Nadal saved all four break points against Lopez and continued to remain unbroken at this year’s US Open.
Nadal, who has been eying his first US Open and ninth Major title has already won the French Open and Wimbledon this year.
Re-enjoy the thrills of this duel!
In the next round, Nadal will face his close-fellow and world no. 8 Fernando Verdasco, who rallied past his compatriot David Ferrer in five grueling sets with a 6-7 6-7 6-3 6-3 7-6 scoreline.
