Monica Puig appoints Antonio Van Grichen as her new coach
Monica Puig of Puerto Rico hired Antonio Van Grichen as her new coach, who has coached former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka.

Twenty year old Monica Puig of Puerto Rico hired Antonio Van Grichen as her new coach. Grichen had earlier coached Victoria Azarenka since her junior days and to the time, when she broke into the Top 10 in WTA Rankings.

Puig is currently ranked as World No. 57 in the WTA Rankings. Grichen has also worked with some notable WTA stars such as former World No. 1 Ana Ivanovic, Vera Zvonareva, and Jarmila Gajdosova.

Speaking to the WTA Tour website, Puig commented, "I felt like I needed a change in my game to take me to the next level. I thought I needed a fresh voice and a new face on the team so I'm really excited to have started work with him and really excited to start our first tournament together at Indian Wells."
