Milos Raonic vs. Feliciano Lopez: Toronto Masters Quarter-final Preview
Home favorite Milos Raonic will take on the serve and volley specialist and the man in-form Feliciano Lopez in the last 8 of the Rogers Cup in Toronto on Friday. Will the top-ranked Canadian notch up an impressive win over the dexterous Spaniard on the day?

World No.6 Milos Raonic booked his spot in the quarter-finals of the Toronto Masters as he overcame the tough challenge of the Frenchman Julien Benneteau in their third round encounter on Thursday. Coming into the match after his battling victory over the American Jack Sock in round 2, Raonic made a solid start to the clash as he cruised through the opening set with the assistance of some brilliant serves and an array of deft volleys at the net and massive forehands from the baseline.

But, then the sixth seed suffered a little blip in concentration and had to pay a heavy price for that momentary loss in focus as Benneteau bounced back to put the scores on an even keel at a set apiece. In the decider, Raonic quickly regained his composure and broke Julien to love in the first game before holding to love to finish-off the match in his favor for a 6-3 4-6 6-4 victory in one hour and 48-minutes.

On the other hand, Spanish leftie Feliciano Lopez added to the misery of the top seeds during the day as he stunned the fourth seed Tomas Berdych in what was a high quality match on the Grandstand court yesterday. After sharing the first two sets, it was the southpaw who took the initiative to grab an early break in the final set before sealing the deal for a berth in the quarters of the event in an hour and 55 minutes.

Head-to-Head: Raonic has a 2-1 advantage over Lopez courtesy of his two successive triumphs on the hard courts in 2013. And, with the crowd right behind him in this match, he could find himself in familiar territory once more as he has the firepower to beat Lopez and that too in two easy sets.
