Reaching the final of a Grand Slam is a monumental sporting achievement and it is perhaps unfortunate that the players who've managed to win it just once in their careers are looked down upon as being fluke winners; the hand of luck playing a huge part in their triumphant moment.
The stand-out statistic here is that all but one of the so called 'One Slam Wonder' players were in the top ten in the ATP rankings at some point in their careers. They may not have been consistent enough to carry that victory into the subsequent tournaments, but they did produce a scintillating 2 weeks of tennis at a Grand Slam, an achievement that deserves recognition rather than being frowned upon.
