The winner of 11 ATP World Tour doubles titles, Poles Marcin Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg registered a comprehensive straight sets win over Indo-Czech duo of Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy at the opening day Round Robin match at the 2010 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London at the famous O2 Arena.
The Polish duo started the match well and kept pressure on Paes and Dlouhy with good net play and interceptive vollies. As the match progressed, the Poles grabbed two breaks of serve in the sixth and ninth game to wrap up the first set 6-3.
The second set opened on a much more competitive note as Paes and Dlouhy made full efforts to shift the momentum and somehow managed to push the set into a tie-break. As the match went into the tie-break, the Polish duo regained composure and completed the 6-3, 7-6(3).
