Maria Sharapova vs. Christina Mchale: 2012 Rome Open match preview
In form Russian Maria Sharapova will face Christina Mchale of America for a place in the third round of International BNL d'Italia 2012, Rome.

World No 2 Russian Maria Sharapova takes on Christina Mchale of America in the second round of International BNL d'Italia 2012, Rome.

Sharapova started the season at the Australian Open and was on song until the final where she was outclassed by World No.1 Victoria Azarenka. In March, she managed to reach the finals of both Indian Wells and the Miami Sony Ericsson Open but was beaten on both occasions. She finally got some payback from her arch-rival at the high-profile Stuttgart event, when she beat Azarenka in the final of the event. At Madrid last week, she reached the quarter-finals where she was beaten by eventual champion Serena Williams.

Her opponent- Mchale has an average 15-8 win loss record this year and still searching for her first title on the tour.
