Considered as one of the most influential and followed woman athletes in the contemporary era – Russian tennis sensation Maria Sharapova once again took the world of Internet with storm by sporting a short haircut.

Obviously, a player of Sharapova’s stature just needs to make a few quick changes in her looks to surprise the ever-swelling fan base – every now and then.

Interestingly, Sharapova’s new haircut has been received with mixed reactions. While some of her fans are OK with it, others are feeling that it’s awkward.

In this new haircut, Sharapova remained a blonde, but she trimmed her long hair and now they finishes below her ears. She posted on her Facebook "So what do you guys think?? I kind of love it!" A few minutes after the Russian posted her new photograph on Facebook reactions came to pour in – from her fans all across the globe.
