Bidding for her maiden WTA title on tour, World No. 56 Laura Robson of Great Britain will square off against Eleni Daniiliduo of Greece in the first round match at the 2012 Osaka Open on Tuesday.
Laura Robson is currently ranked as World No. 56 in the WTA Rankings. The Briton also has an ordinary 32-24 win-loss record for the season. The eighteen years old Robson reached the second-round at Wimbledon and also won silver medal at Olympics Mixed Doubles event with Andy Murray.
Recently, Robson became the first British woman in 22 years to reach a WTA final when she defeated third-seeded Sorana Cirstea of Romania to reach the final of 2012 Guangzhou International WTA Open.. The last British woman to reach a WTA final was Jo Durie in 1990.
Her opponent- Daniiliduo is ranked 108 in the world has not had a good year so far, with a 22-31 win-loss record in 2012. She has five career titles to her name but is yet to win a title this year.
This will be the first meeting between the two players.

A solid win from a lady who seems to have been having a lot of fun recently; seems to have balanced her tennis and social life. This could be very good for longevity.
