Last 10 Male Winners of the Rogers Cup

The Rogers Cup or the Canadian Open as it is popularly known is the first of the two Masters Series Tournaments to be played on the ATP Tour every year before the last Grand Slam of the year ‘US Open’ commences in New York on the last Monday of the month of August. The event that is contested on the hard courts of Toronto and Montreal alternatively year after year has generally proved to be a place where the real battles take shape for eventual glory at Flushing Meadows.

Over the years the likes of Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have used it as a platform to prepare themselves for a big push at the Arthur Ashe Stadium situated inside the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center as all of them have went on to lift the US Open crown in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2011 correspondingly.

The hard-courts at the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal and at the Rexall Centre in Toronto play almost similar to the ones at the United States Open in the Big Apple and hence whosoever claims the biggest prize in Canada goes to New York with immense confidence and that’s why winning the Rogers Cup has been really important for the big names in the sport.
