Kvitova - Rezai   6 - 3   4 - 6   6 - 2    Seventh-seeded Petra Kvitova dealt with mid-match jitters very well to win this encounter in three sets. After winning the see-saw first set, Kvitova lost the momentum with a lapse in concentration and consequently lost the second-set. Final set also saw some erratic play from Kvitova, but in the end she did relatively well as compared to her opponent Rezai and earned the victory. Though, Kvitova did not even look near to her best, she somehow managed to pull off a well-deserved victory in the end.  5 - 2    Kvitova fights hard and consolidates the break after being 0-30 down in this game to lead 5-2 in the final set, forcing Rezai to serve to stay in the match.
4 - 2    A beautiful return of serve winner sees Kvitova getting a break up again in the decider. Rezai failed to capitalize on the break and let go of a chance to get the set at par. Kvitova leads 4-2 in the final set after breaking Rezai for a third time. 3 - 2    Rezai breaks back! How many twists and turns will this match see! The Frenchwoman plays a remarkable returning game to get the set back on serve at 2-3.
3 - 1    Kvitova breaks for a second time on the trot! Her come on tells us how important this game was for her as the seventh seed now leads 3-1 in the final set.  2 - 1    Kvitova takes a really long service game after saving a few  break points in this game. The Czech takes a 2-1 lead in the final set as Rezai looks to play catch up tennis now.
1 - 1    Kvitova requires just one break point to get the third set back on track. Rezai failed to maintain her high level on her service game as Kvitova breaks back to get the set back on serve at 1-1. 0 - 1    A net cord helps Rezai get the early break in the decider as she kick starts it in style. Kvitova seems to be lost and is really looking weary as Rezai looks to make her move and cause an upset here.
Kvitova - Rezai   6 - 3   4 - 6    A spectacular turn around in the second set saw Rezai taking itin 41 minutes and sending the match into a third set. The Frenchwoman was very successful in hitting the ball behind her opponent as that fetched her a lot of free points. With 17 sparkling winners and 2 breaks of serve, Rezai made Kvitova pay for the lack of movement around the court along with some weak serves. Kvitova was very inconsistent throughout the second set and that lead to her hitting 10 unforced errors and giving away some the second set. 4 - 5    Some terrific ball striking by the wild card entrant sees her take a 5-4 lead in the second set as she comes out to serve for it. Rezai hit some well placed winners in this game as she hit the ball away from Kvitova and got its rewards.
4 - 4    A wonderful service game saw Rezai keep the set going on serve. Rezai has used the strategy of going behind Kvitova quite a number of times and it has paid off. The scoreboard says 4 games all in the second set with Kvitova leading by a set to love. 4 - 3    Kvitova holds a long and a testing seventh game to get the set back on track. She leads 4-3 in the second set after taking the first 6-3. Rezai looked dejected as she failed to convert the break point chances and that can prove costly for the Frenchwoman.
3 - 3    Kvitova breaks back! The Czech plays a well constructed game as she gets the returns in and makes the most of all the easy balls to get the set back on track at 3-3 in the second set. 2 - 3    Kvitova keeps herself in contention in the second set as she holds a tight service game to keep herself just a break behind in the second set. Rezai on the other hand has started to find her range and is looking dangerous. She leads 3-2 in the second set, up a break but down a set.
1 - 3    Rezai confirms the break after holding her serve with comfort to lead 3-1 in the second set. Kvitova failed to read the Rezai serve and paid the price as the Frenchwoman seems to have gained confidence in herself and in her game. 1 - 2    Some supreme returning from Rezai sees her get the break in the third game of the second set to take a 2-1 lead. With errors coming from both the corners, it is Rezai who reduces the gap to two games and trail 2-4.
4 - 1    Rezai cracks again as Kvitova breaks the Rezai serve for a second time in the set to take a 4-1 lead. The southpaw serves big and follows it with bigger ground strokes to take a 3-1 lead in the opening set.
