An astounding victory for the King of Clay - and he roars back to make his presence felt! Who says eight is an unlucky number? Nadal earned his eighth consecutive title here in Monte-Carlo and managed to beat his greatest nemesis Djokovic - in eighth final. First title for the Spaniard in ten months and the way he played today, it was evident that he was fuming from inside - so here is the reward RAFA. A controlled-compact performance from the Spaniard, as he took only 1 hour and 18 minutes to subdue the World No. 1.
Nadal breaks back immediately and will now serve for the title in the next game. He has looked in brilliant touch so far...
Out of nowhere Djokvic breaks Nadal and opens his side of account in the second set. He trails 1-4 in the set.

Nadal is cleary sensing a victory here as he quickly holds his serve to love and consolidates the lead to 3-0 in the second set of the match.
Nadal breaks Djokovic once again in the match and reaches to a dominating position with a set and 2-0 lead. The Serbian is struggling to keep the ball in play and hasn't answered to any of the question asked by Nadal so far...
Nadal continues to roll with the momentum and holds his serve comfortably to open second set with 1-0 lead.

Djokovic dugs deep in the game and saves a break point en-route to this hold. He is certainly not looking in best of form at the moment and struggling to match Nadal's intensity. However he holds to this time and trails 3-4 in the set.

Despite a double fault, Nadal faces no real issue to hold his serve. He extends his lead to 3-1 in the first set with this hold.
Nadal drews the first bood in the set as Djokovic committed unforced errors in the later stages of the game. The Spaniard was quick to realise the opportunity and converted the lone break point to get ahead with 2-1 scoreline in the set.
Nadal looked in bit of trouble at 15-30 but he quickly recovers from with with an ace then fires couple of heavy serves to hold his serve and levels the scores at 1-1 in the opening set of the match.
Solid start for World No1 Djokovic as he keeps all his first serves in and holds to love for 1-0 lead in the first set of the match.
