Japanese No 1 Kei Nishikori takes on Chinese Di Wu for a place in the second round of the Shanghai Masters on Tuesday.
Currently ranked as World No. 17 in the ATP Rankings, the twenty two year old Nishikori turned professional in 2007 and has a good 28-16 win-loss record for the season so far. Earlier this year, he reached the quarter-finals at the Aussie Open, where he lost to Andy Murray in straight sets. After that he could maintain his fine run on clay, as he reached the quarterfinals at Barcelona, but unfortunately he did not participate in the French Open due to an abdominal injury. He also reached the third-round at Wimbledon. Last week he displayed superb tennis to clinch the Japan Open and would like to continue with that form.
His opponent- Wu is ranked at No 179 in the rankings and has 2-3 win loss record this year.
This will be the first meeting between the two players and Nishikori is a crushing favourite in the clash.
