Second seeded Croat Ivo Karlovic humbled home favourite and American Mardy Fish 6-2, 6-3 to reach the final of the 2010 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships, being played here in Delray Beach, USA.
Ace-machine Karlovic took just 59 minutes to reach the second final of his career after his title triumph in Nottingham in 2008. He now meets Latvian Ernests Gulbis, who defeated Finnish Jarkko Neiminen 6-4, 6-4 to reach his maiden ATP World Tour final.
"Finally my first final," Gulbis said. "It feels really good. It’s a lot of points and I don’t have points to defend till the end of the year, so I can make a move in the rankings. I can only go up, I cannot fall out of the Top 100 with nothing to defend."
"I am mentally stronger. I am playing smarter. I warmed up well. I was ready from the first point and I stayed aggressive. I was thinking mentally that I was going on court to win," added Gulbis.
