Reigning champion and top seeded Juan Martin del Potro takes on Spaniard Albert Montanes for a place in the semi-finals of 2012 Estoril Open.
Argentine star Juan Martin Del Potro comes into the tournament with 23-6 win loss record and is playing on clay for the first time in this season. He has managed to maintain a consistent performance since the start of 2012 and is currently placed at No.12 in ATP rankings.
Del Potro has 10 career singles titles to his name and his latest win came this year in Marseille. He defeated Rui Machado of Portugal in straight sets in his second round match at this year edition.
His opponent - Montanes has poor 5-9 win loss record this year and has won five titles so far in his career.
Both the players have met once at Acapulco in 2006 where Montanes won 6-2, 5-3 as Del potro retired midway.
TennisEarth Pick: Even though Del potro lost the previous encounter against Montanes, the things have changed very much since then and the Argentine should be able to win this one in straight sets.
