World No.7 Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina proved why he is a force to reckon with after he crushed Janko Tipsarevic in straight sets 6-0, 6-4 in 1 hour and 16 minutes to enhance his chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of this elite event. Tipsarevic was a touch slow on everything and Del Potro made full use of it.
The first set was simply Del Potro all the way! He handed Tipsarevic a bagel after breaking the Serb thrice in the opening set. The Argentine took control of the set from the beginning as he smacked 7 winners along with a couple of aces to thrash the Tipsarevic hopes. The Serb was struggling to find form and Del Potro made full use of it.
The second set was a far closer contest with both the players giving their all to leave an impression. But it was the tall and lanky man from Argentina who got a crucial break in the fifth game of the second set to make things worse for the Serb. Del Potro later went on to serve the match out successfully with some fine serving.
