
The on-going Madrid Masters is being played on blue clay this year and the idea has attracted a lot of criticism from key players at the tournament. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have both unanimously revolted against the move. That however has not always been how things were done at the Caja Mágica in Madrid. A surprising statistic is that the 'king of clay' has only won the tournament twice. But in his defense, it has only been three years since the tournament is being played on clay.
