Top seeded and last two time finalist American John Isner takes on compatriot Jack Sock in the quarter-final match of 2012 Atlanta Tennis Championships.
After suffering a slump at French Open and Wimbledon this season, Isner looks to be back on track with a title haul at Newport last week. Isner is currently ranked at No 11 in the rankings and has a 28-12 win loss record this year. Earlier this season, he reached his first ATP 1000 tour final at Indian Wells and was a runner-up at Houston also. He fired 16 aces to beat qualifier Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round opener here yesterday.
His opponent Jack Sock downed another localite Steve Johnson 7-6(5), 7-5(5) yesterday to reach his first ATP World Tour quarter-final. Sock is an wild card entrant in the tournament and would like to go deep in the tournament.
This will be the first meeting between the two players and Isner should win this in straight sets.
