Haas, who is making his first appearance in Munich in five years, has 4-4 win loss record this year. Haas has an 11-8 career mark in Munich and was a runner-up in 2000. He defeated countryman Michael Berrer 6-0, 6-2 to advance into the second round.
His opponent- Tsonga, currently ranked at No.5 in the World has had a good year so far, with a title in Qatar under his belt this year. He comes in this tournament with a 20-7 win-loss record for 2012 and will be playing for the first time in Munich.
Both players have met twice before and share a win each.
TennisEarth Pick: Though Tsonga looks a certain favourite in the clash but it won't be easy to beat Hass in his own country.
