Bidding for her 13th career title, Jelena Jankovic was a name to associate with consistency a couple of seasons ago, but now she is not considered as a big threat by her opponents on tour. She started the new season on a high note by reaching the quarterfinals at Brisbane and then finished in the fourth round at Aussie Open. But afterwards, she failed to maintain any decent form on tour and lost in the second-round at Roland Garros and ousted in the Wimbledon opener. The Serbian has an ordinary 31-27 win-loss record for the season.
Today, she faces Shuai Peng of China in the first round of Luxembourg Open.
Peng is currently ranked at No 46 in the world rankings and has 25-22 win loss record this year. She reached the pre-quarterfinals at this year Wimbledon and finished as quarterfinalist in Kuala Lumpur and Dallas.
Both players have met nine times before and Jankovic leads 6-3 in head to head series.

I don't know what's up with Peng? But JJ seemed like she was playing well?
