Former World No.1 Jelena Jankovic has had a really disappointing year so far, with a win-loss record of 22-23 so far. She lost in the finals of the Aegon Classic, where she was a heavy favorite. Though she has had a few good runs, she has failed to convert and deliver the goods when the occasion called for a great performance. She would be aiming to find her way into the Top-10, amongst the best- somewhere she used to be. She is yet to win a title in 2012 and would be hoping she lifts one by the end of this year.
Her opponent - Casey Dellacqua is a new comer on the tour and is currently ranked No. 106 in the world. She possess 20-16 win loss record this year and has failed to progress beyond second round in most of the tournaments she has played in. Here at Texas, she looks in brilliant form as she knocked out heavyweight Yanina Wickmayer in the pre-quarters and would like to go a step ahead.
Both players have met twice before and Jankovic has won both of them.
