Former World No.1 Jelena Jankovic has had a really disappointing year so far, with a win-loss record of 22-23 so far. She lost in the finals of the Aegon Classic, where she was a heavy favorite. Though she has had a few good runs, she has failed to convert and deliver the goods when the occasion called for a great performance. She would be aiming to find her way into the Top-10, amongst the best- somewhere she used to be. She is yet to win a title in 2012 and would be hoping she lifts one by the end of this year.
On the other end of the court, Arantxa Rus is ranked 61 in the world. She isn't someone who should be able to trouble the Serbian , but if taken lightly she can upset her as she does herself have a big forehand. Also playing against a left hander can often be tricky. Her win-loss record stands at 26-21 this year.
This will be the first meeting between the two players and Jankovic should win in straight sets.
