Ana Ivanovic has welcomed the announcement that from 2015 the Wimbledon Championships will be played three weeks after the conclusion of the French Open.
The move will allow players an extra week to adapt between clay and grass. As of now there is just two weeks between the final of Roland Garros and the first day of Wimbledon.
"I think it's great," Ivanovic said. "There aren't many things I would change in tennis but this is definitely something I have always supported, so I'm happy to see that it's happening, and I think the vast majority of players will support it."
She added "To go from the slowest surface to the fastest, in just a week, sometimes less, is very tough and this will obviously give us more time to adapt, and maybe even to play an extra grass event."
