2008 French Open champion and former World No 1 Ana Ivanovic was knocked out by Italian Sara Errani with 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 scoreline in the third round match of 2012 Roland Garros, Paris on Friday.

Match Cast: Ivanovic vs Errani

Ivanovic got a early break at 2-0 in the first set but got herself broken in the next game. The Serbian stepped on the pedal from there and reeled off four straight games to close the set 6-1 in her favour.

Both players traded couple of breaks in the middle of the second set and it looked to be going tie breaker way but Ivanovic failed to hold her serve while serving to stay in the set at 6-5 and allowed Errani to take the match into a deciding set.

In the deciding set as well both players exchanged multiple breaks before Errani held to her serve at 5-2 and then successfully served out for the match two games later.

Errani will next the winner of match to be played between Agnieszka Radwanska and Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova.
