Sixth-seeded Italian Andreas Seppi came back from a set down and broke four times to beat French qualifier Guillaume Rufin 1-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 in just under two and a half hours. Israeli Dudi Sela defeated No.1 Romanian Adrian Ungur 7-6(2), 6-2 to set up a second-round meeting with top seed Gilles Simon, a two-time champion here.
