Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei fought past Laura Robson of Great Britain with 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 scoreline to win the 2012 Guangzhou International WTA Open on Saturday.

Robson got a early break at 2-1 in the first set but failed to keep the break with her for long time and got herself broken in the very next game. The Briton struggled with her play afterwards and failed to hold her service game at 4-2 in the set. Hsieh kept the distance till the end and wrapped the first set 6-3 in her favour.

In the second set also, it was Robson who secured a early break at 2-0 but just like first set she got herself broken in the next game and then failed to hold her next service game. Hsieh had five match points in the ninth game of the set but couldn't convert either of them. Robson came out strongly from there and reeled off next three games in her favour to take the match into a deciding set.

The Briton raced to 3-0 lead in the third set but Hsieh bounced back strongly in the match and reeled off five straight games before she closed the match in her favour.
