Henin, Clijsters ready to stage big upsets at Indian Wells
By AjayTyagi (TennisEarth.com), Submitted On
Top seeded players might face big threats in the mid-rounds of the WTA Indian Wells tournament, as Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters would play unseeded players in the initial rounds of the tournament. Thus, it would be easier for the two Belgian players to reach the third-round.
Henin will play in the tournament as an unseeded player because she has not played enough matches to earn a ranking. She will start her campaign against Magdalena Rybarikova. Agnieszka Radwanska and Marion Bartoli are also there in her section of the draw. Accordingly, Maria Sharapova or Caroline Wozniacki might meet her in the semifinals.
Kim Clijsters, a 14th-seeded player and two-time Indian Wells champion, will start her campaign either against Germany's Andrea Petkovic or Czech Barbora Strycova Zahlavova. In the fourth round, Clijsters could face top seed Svetlana Kuznetsova.
