Hantuchova advances in Monterrey Open

After beating Lourdes Dominguez, Daniela Hantuchova made it into the second-round of the Monterrey Open

Second-seeded Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia beat Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain 6-3 7-6 (6) and reached in the second round of the Monterrey Open in Mexico. In her next match, Hantuchova will face Kaia Kanepi of Estonia.

In another, exciting second-round contest, third-seeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova thrashed Polona Hercog of Slovenia 6-2 6-3. Last week, Hercog reached the final in Acapulco in the Mexican Open, where she lost to Venus Williams.

In the quarterfinals, Pavlyuchenkova will play Klara Zakopalova of Czech Republic. Other winners of the second round are, Alize Cornet of France who beat seventh-seeded Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada, 6-2 6-3, whereas, Zakopalova defeated Patricia Mayr of Austria, 6-4 6-3 and American Vania King beat Julie Coin of France 6-3 6-3.
