Gasquet wins opener in Gstaad; Robredo loses

Seventh seeded Ricard Gasquet of France defeated Uzbekistani qualifier Farrukh Dustov 6-3 6-4 in the first round of the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad on Monday.
2006 winner Gasquet will next face German Daniel Brands, who fired 15 aces to edge past Australian Peter Luczak 6-4 7-5 in 87 minutes.
Swiss duo of Michael Lammer and Alexander Sadecky advanced with win over their respective opponents. Lammer survived 12 aces against Dustin Brown for a 7-5 7-5 win, while Sadecky downed countryman Yann Marti 7-5 1-6 6-0.
Andreas Haider-Maurer of Austria battled past Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan 6-3 6-7(5) 6-4.
Frederico Gil of Portugal posted the upset of the day when he knocked out fifth-seeded Spaniard Tommy Robredo 4-6 7-5 6-1.
