Argentine Juan Martin del Potro downed Tomas Berdych Of Czech Republic with 7-6(6), 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 scoreline to book his spot in the quarter-finals of the French Open 2012.
The match was suspended yesterday because of bad light when Del Potro was up by two sets to one.

Today in the fourth set, Del Potro made a fine start with a early break in the second game and raced to 3-0 lead. However Berdych broke back in the seventh game and levelled the scores at 4-4 in the set.The Czech got himself broken once again while serving to stay in the match in 13th game and lost the match.
Yesterday, both players displayed gritty tennis in the first set of the match and no breaks of serve were exchanged in it. The set went to the tie breaker, where Del Potro triumphed with 7-6(6) scoreline. The Argentine arrowed 4 aces, 17 winners in the middle and made full use of 22 unforced errors made by Berdych in the set.
However in the second set, Del Potro went off the boil in the second set and got himself broken twice; once at 2-1 and then at 4-1 to allow Berdych level the match scores at 1-1 in the match.
The Argentine bounced back strongly in the third set and secured a early break at 2-1 in the set. He broke him for the second time at 5-2 but lost his next serive game. Del Potro broke Berdych once again, while he was serving to stay in the set.
He will next face 2009 champion Roger Federer, who bounced back from first set loss to beat luck loser David Goffin of Belgium 5-7, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4.
