Former champions France successfully completed a 3-0 win over Germany with the help of a crucial doubles rubber win to reach the quarterfinals of the 2010 Davis Cup in a tie played here at Palais de Sports in Toulon, France.

The French duo of Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra opened the match well and broke the German duo twice to pocket the opening set 6-1. With an early break in the second set, the Frenchmen raced to a two sets to love lead.
Things took a serious turn in the third set when the German duo broke Benneteau's serve to race to a 3-1 lead and broke Llodra's serve to make matters worse for France and pocketed the third set 6-1. As the fourth set progressed, both teams tested each other to limits before the Frenchmen broke the Germans in the twelth game to win the match and the tie with a 6-1, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 doubles rubber scoreline.
