American veteran Mardy Fish survived a marathon struggle against compatriot John Isner to cliam the inaugural Atlnata Tennis Championsips, an ATP World Tour 250 event being held in the Georgian city.

Fish made a bad start to the match and lost his serve in the seventh game to give Isner the opening set by 6 games to 4. The second set brought a much needed resistance from the American veteran who broke Isner's serve in the last game at love to level the match at one set a piece.

The decider turned out to be a see-saw battle between both players who traded breaks before pushing it into the tie-break which Fish dominated by the virtue of a crucial mini-break at 3-0 and completed the marathon 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) win in two hours and 45 minutes of play.

This is Fish's second title of the year and his fifth overall. With a win, Fish collected the valuable 250 South African Airways ATP Singles Rankings points.
