In less than a week, Spanish superstars Juan Carlos Ferrero and David Ferrer set up another title clash at the Abierto Mexicano telcel, whereas women's defending champion Venus Williams struggled before making the final.

Fourth seeded Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero continued his clay-court winning streak with a win over Argntine Juan Monaco to reach the final fo the 2010 Abierto Mexicano telcel Open, being played here in Acapulco, Mexico.

"I'm happy with my run in the Latin American swing," Ferrero said. "I know it will get each time more difficult to keep this streak alive but I'm confident and my body is holding well."

Ferrero led Monaco by a set (7-5) when the Argentine decided to retire from the match due to a nagging injury. He now meets compatriot David Ferrer in the final who took out Chilean superstar Fernando Gonzalez in a come-from-behind victory, winning 6-7(4), 6-0, 6-4 in two hours and 16 minutes of nail-biting tennis.

About the final, Ferrer said - "Tomorrow should be another very good match. I'm very good friends with Juan Carlos. We know each other’s game very well so it will be a matter of who can be tougher mentally and physically."

In the women's draw, defending champion Venus Williams faces first timer Polona Hercog for her second consecutive Acapulco title. Williams struggled in her semifinal match against Edina Gallovits, winning the 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 match in well over two hours of tussle. Hercog, on the other hand, looked rock solid in her 6-3, 7-5 win over fifth seed Carla Suarez Navarro.
