Fernando Verdasco beats qualifier Ramon Delgado at Indian Wells

Fernando Verdasco cruises in the next round of Paribas Open, Indian Wells, after showing the sign of nervousness in the initial stages of the match.

Spaniard Fernando Verdasco registered a 6-4 6-1 win over qualifier Ramon Delgado of Paraguey . Verdasco struggled a bit in the initial stages of the match, but gradually got his rhythm back. In the first set, both players traded multiple breaks, until Verdasco broke Delgado at 5-4 to wrap up the first set.

Delgado looked unperturbed even after losing the first set, as he leveled the score at 1-1 in the second set. But, from there on, Verdasco unleashed the power of his powerful ground shots and Delgado was simply clueless. 

Verdasco earned the much needed break in the second set at  3-1 and dint looked back. Other winners of the day were Argentine Juanignacio Chela and American Michael Russell.
