Roger Federer won his first grand slam of the year as he surpassed Andy Murray 6-2 7-5 6-2 to win his fifth straight U S Open Final. He looked determined to win; displaying wide array of shots he possesses in his armour and excellent court possession. His play reminded the fans of �Invincible Federer� of not so old days and silenced his critics who thought his reign was over.
Federer started with winning his first service game to love. Federer continued to put pressure on Murray as he broke Murray in sixth game. Federer consolidated the advantage and wrapped up the first set 6-2. During second set , both the players exchanged long rallies and some superb forehands.
Murray�s best chance to stay in the match came in the second set with score tied at 2. Down 15-40, Federer hit a shot that looked long, but Murray kept it in play and wound up losing the point. Federer in no mood to relent, broke Murrays serve again at 6-5 and took the set 7-5.
Federer continues to streamroll as he raced to 5-0 lead in the third set .Murray tried to block his victory path by taking two games in a row but it was too late Murray�s final shot landed in the netand, Federer won the match .He fell to his knees on the blue court at Arthur Ashe Stadium and rolled onto his back.
