Federer withdraws from Dubai Championships due to lung infection

World No. 1 player Roger Federer will not play in the Dubai Championships, as he is diagnosed with a lung infection

Roger Federer will miss the Dubai Championships because of a lung infection. The top-ranked Swiss player got infected last week. Federer will take rest for two weeks and he is expected to return to the court at Indian Wells in March.

Organizers announced on Sunday that Federer picked up the infection last week and he will not play in the $2 million event. Federer has won the Dubai Championships four times, this is really a heartening news for his fans.

Jan Hernych of the Czech Republic replaces Federer in the main draw.
