Six-time former Wimbledon champion Roger Federer dismissed Russian Mikhail Youzhny's challenge in straight sets with 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 scoreline to book his spot in the semi-finals of The Championships 2012, Wimbledon.
Gunning for his seventh Wimbledon title, Federer opened the match on strong note as he broke Youzhny early in the second game of the first set and raced to 4-1 lead. The Swiss secured another break of serve in the sixth game and then served out for a first set lead in the match. The Swiss genius served beautifully as he mustered 92% points on his first serve and converted 2 out of 7 break-points. Youzhny did not have a single break-point opportunity throughout the first set.

In the second set also, Federer kept the momentum rolling in his favour as he broke Youzhny in the first game and then at 5-2 before he raced out to two set lead in the match in just an hour.
Youzhny failed to put any sort of resistance against Federer in the third set also as he got himself broken twice in it and allowed Federer to score a straight set victory in the match.
Federer said" I thought I played great out there today. My game maybe suits up well against his, I don't know. He fought hard but maybe wasn't enough today. "
He will next face either World No 1 Novak Djokovic or German Florian Mayer.
