Federer launches Instagram account
Roger Federer, the 17-time Grand Slam champion and one of the most popular tennis players in the world, has launched his Instagram account.

Definitely the most popular tennis player the world has ever seen and perhaps even the greatest – Roger Federer has launched his Instagram account.

The Swiss, who was late when it came to twitter too, announced his arrival by tweeting about it yesterday. On twitter, Federer already has a following of 2.1 million while his official facebook page has over 14 million likes.

On the Instagram page, Federer has just the one photo of him with Michael Jordan and yet he has already managed to pull 135,000 followers in just 15 hours.

Numbers and fans for Federer will forever remain unchallenged, but at the moment he seems focused on adding an 18th major to his name at the US Open.

In his opening match last night, the Swiss overwhelmed Australia’s Marino Matosevic, racing to a 6-3,6-4,7-6(4) win in just over two hours.
