Federer gives 1-0 lead to Swiss against Netherlands in Davis Cup
Roger Federer defeated Thiemo de Bakker of Netherlands in straight sets to give Switzerland a 1-0 lead over the Netherlands in their Davis Cup World Group playoff tie.

World No 1 Swiss Roger Federer scored a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 win in straight sets against Thiemo de Bakker of Netherlands to give Switzerland a 1-0 lead over the Netherlands in their Davis Cup World Group playoff on Friday.

Match Cast: Federer vs de Bakker

Federer broke Debakker at 3-1 but got himself broken in the next game. The Swiss broke Debakker at 4-2 and kept the distance till the end to wrap the first set 6-3.

The Swiss kept the momentum rolling in second set also as he broke Debakker twice to race to 3-0 lead in the set. Debakker manages to broke back once in the set but couldn't repeat the feat and lost the second set with 6-4 scoreline.

In the third set also, Federer secured a lone break at 3-2 and maintained it till the end to register the victory in straight sets.
