Roger Federer ended Italian Andreas Seppi's dream run to the quarter finals, after humbling him in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 in just under an hour to reach the penultimate stage of the Rome Masters, where he faces Novak Djokovic.
Federer wrapped the first set swiftly, in just 20 minutes. An almost perfect set came to an end with a backhand volley winner. 11 winners and 2 breaks did the trick for Federer, who served at a very high percentage and did not allow Seppi to get into the set. Seppi was left clueless as Federer raced away with the set.
The second set started well for Seppi, holding twice to give the crowd something to cheer about. But, when Federer comes in the zone, it is impossible to stop him. Federer wrapped the second set also with ease after Seppi's game could not match upto the level Federer was playing at.
With 25 winners and 4 breaks, Federer won 81% of the points on his first serve, explaining why he is hot favorite to win this title. It will be an enthralling match between Federer and Djokovic, who have a lot at stake for this tournament.
