While Paris is a picturesque location for most people, it has turned out to be rather ugly for others. Roland Garros is known as a legend graveyard and several past superstars would testify to it. Even the great Roger Federer would have, had it not been for Robin Soderling in 2009. Being the only Grand Slam on clay, Americans especially struggle here, and occupy a large share of failed greats. Clay-court great, Bjorn Borg has himself labeled it as the "toughest" Grand Slam, while it never seemed too tough for him, others found life on the red of Paris rather nightmarish.
