Italian Sara Errani overcame second set deficit to beat Samantha Stosur of Australia in three sets in the round robin encounter of the season ending WTA Championships on Thursday.
World No 7 Italian Sara Errani kept her hopes alive to reach the semis of the season ending WTA Championships 2012, as she defeated Samantha Stosur of Australia, who came as replacement for Czech Petra Kvitova, with 6-3, 2-6, 6-0 scoreline on Thursday.
Both players traded a break of serve in the start of the first set before Errani broke Stosur twice in the late stages of the set to close it with 6-3 scoreline in her favour.

In the second set also, both players exchanged a break of serve and Stosur upped the level of her play to take the second set in her favour with 6-2 scoreline and took the match into the third set.
The third set was an one sided affair as the Italian reeled off six straight games in her favour to post a bagel in the set. Errani placed 18 winners in the middle and got hugely benefited from 49 unforced errors made by Stosur in the match.
