Errani, Kerber advance in Bogota

The opening day at the 2010 Copa Colsanitas brought expected results as all the seeds in action prevailed in their opening round matches.

Third seeded Italian Sara Errani looked in impressive form in her 6-0, 6-4 routing of Belarusian Anastasiya Yakimova to reach the second round of the 2010 Copa Colsanitas, being played here in Bogota, Columbia.

Errani was later joined by fifth seed, German Angelique Kerber, who struggled before registering a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win. Sixth seed Sandra Zahlavova also recorded an easy 6-3, 6-2 win over Russian Alexandra Panova in just 71 minutes of play.

Other winners of the day included  Edina Gallovits, Petra Cetkovska and eighth seed Arantxa Parra Santonja, who all registered contrasting wins over their respective opponents to move ahead in the draw.
