Second-seeded Novak Djokovic of Serbia earned a straight sets victory over World No. 112 Rogerio Dutra Silva of Brazil on Friday and reached the third-round at 2012 US Open.
Novak Djokovic played superbly to win this duel in straight sets. Djokovic came out all guns blazing, and it was Dutra Silva's serve that let him down as he held it only 5 times in the match. The World No.2's backhand looked sublime today, as he ripped the ball cross court and down the line at will. The Serb smashed 29 winners and 6 aces in the match to win it easily.
The defending champion Novak Djokovic took just 28 minutes to win the first set. Djokovic made an impressive start to the match and broke Dutrasilva twice to claim the first set easily. Dutrasilva gave into initial jitters early on in the first set and could not recover from that.

Djokovic took the momentum of the first set into second and won it convincingly by breaking the Brazilian twice. Dutrasilva did well early on in the second-set but he failed to get his act together at the right time and Djokovic made the most of that. Djokovic served tremendously and did not allow the Brazilian to settle down with his precision-oriented shot-making in the second-set.
The trend continued in the third set, as Djokovic thoroughly dominated the proceedings and raced to a 4-0 lead before the Brazilian could get on board. Finally, Djokovic sailed home in straight sets.
